
Mark Spurgeon, 60, of Indianapolis, passed away June 4, 2016. He was born October 26, 1955 in Greenfield, Indiana, the son of Thaddeus and Elmaza Spurgeon. He grew up in Fortville and attended Mount Vernon High School. He previously lived in Florida until he relocated to Indianapolis.
Mark is survived by his daughter, Sabrina (Jeff) Cyman; his siblings, Janetta (Joseph) DesRoches, Chris (Debra) Spurgeon, and Jerry Spurgeon; grandchildren, Parker and Molly Cyman; nieces and nephew, Brandy (Spurgeon) Kelsay, Sarah Spurgeon, and Steven Spurgeon; and great-niece Zoey Kelsay.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia (Kosmicki) Spurgeon; his father, Thaddeus Spurgeon; and his mother, Elmaza “Babe” White Spurgeon Dyer.
Mark was skilled in construction and had mechanical abilities that enabled him to fix almost anything. He also volunteered at various food pantries.
Services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory, Harry W. Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250. Friends and family may begin to gather at 11:30 a.m. for a memorial service at noon. After the service, gathering time will continue until 1:30 p.m.
